Nurse Practitioners
Nurse Practitioners are educated to degree level to achieve a high standard of patient care. They are qualified to assess patients' physical, psychological and social needs and to diagnose and implement agreed management plans with patients, including appropriate prescribing and referrals to specialists.
Clinical Practitioners
The Clinical Practitioners assist the GP's at the practice with home visits, care home ward rounds and seeing patients in the practice.
Nurses
We have four practice nurses who all have additional specialist training in primary care. As well as performing the usual practice nurse procedures they have been trained to monitor specific diseases such as asthma, diabetes and coronary heart disease. Health promotion and health education forms a large part of the work of our nurses and can help patients who would like to improve their health, for example by weight reduction or help to stop smoking.
